Operationalizing AI

The challenge confronting most organizations regarding AI isn’t whether they should use it systemically; it’s how to.
It is easy for an individual to use AI. Go to your favorite AI tool and ask it for something. However, leveraging AI as a company or nonprofit is more complicated because there are data, governance, integration, security, and other considerations around implementing AI as part of workflows and processes. It is one thing for team members to use a tool like AI personally and a whole different thing for team members to use it when it is company-provided.
AI has the power to impact efficiency and productivity in previously unimaginable ways. Everyone, regardless of role, will have an AI-powered assistant. AI agents will serve as coworkers and make up a significant percentage of some teams in many industries. Customers will interact with AI bots for service, support, and sales without even knowing it, and with faster resolution and a better experience, improving their experience with a company. With the impact and value of AI being undeniable, organizations of all types and sizes will be attempting to implement AI in a controlled, manageable, and repeatable manner.
The first level of AI adoption and impact is individual team members using AI to be more productive, and we’re in it now. The second level of AI for organizations will be operationalizing it to orchestrate use and maximize value. The second level is just starting and, for most organizations, will require a mix of technical evolution, process refinement, and change management, which is not part of level one. The days of BYOAI (Bring Your Own AI) will evolve into organizations-owned, managed, and embedded AI systems and processes.
The team at Transform Labs is working with companies and organizations across the spectrum of mid-market, non-profit, and enterprise to help them operationalize AI to capture value and provide increased value to their stakeholders. In some cases, our AI engagements are to help clients implement AI into a specific process to make it intelligently automated. With other clients, we provide consulting and training to make their team more AI knowledgeable so they can operationalize AI in the driver’s seat while we ride in the backseat. Oh, and let’s not forget about the clients we are helping plug AI into existing products to make those digital products more valuable to users.
Organizations that move from personal AI use to organizational AI will have an early mover advantage over their competitors in figuring out how to leverage AI to drive value. It is already starting with many of our clients, and we’re proud to say we are helping them get there.
